On August 28 at approximately 4:30 a.m., police and emergency first responders were dispatched to Lexwood Court in Lexington Park for a reported shooting with serious injuries.

The shooting victim was treated on the scene and Trooper 7 was called in to transport. However, the victim's condition was not stable enough to be flown and he was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with a serious gunshot wound to the face.

Witnesses on the scene reported that a black male in his early 20's had been arguing with at least one other individual and was subsequently shot in the face. The victim was seen entering an apartment and the suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident. The Bureau of Criminal Investigations are investigating this shooting.

The victim is reported to be in serious condition at this time. No other information is available. An update will be provided as soon as the information is released by authorities.
