Deputy State Fire Marshals arrested an eighteen year old female at the Charles County Group Home for Women located at 9840 Sodus Manor Place in Faulkner, for setting a fire inside her bedroom.

The incident occurred at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Stephanie Marie Brisco, 18, admitted to using an open flame device to ignite curtains located inside her bedroom of the facility. Brisco then went into the woods with her two juvenile roommates and were quickly located with the assistance of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Team.

Damages are estimated at $750.00.

Brisco was charged with Arson 1st degree and transported to the Charles County Detention Center where she is awaiting a bond hearing. If convicted of this charge, Brisco faces a penalty of up to 30 years imprisonment and/or $50,000 in fines.
