IED Causes Mailbox Explosion: Suspects Sought

Maryland State Fire Marshall's along with the Calvert County Sheriff's Office are investigating a mailbox explosion in Owings.
Investigators responded to 2130 Horace Ward Road on Nov. 7 at 12:58 p.m. after the owner of the residence called police to report a post blast explosion.
Investigation revealed some time between Thursday, November 4, 2010 and Sunday, November 7, 2010, unknown suspect(s) constructed and used an improvised explosive device to destroy the mailbox and its contents.
Anyone with any information in reference to this explosion is asked to call the State Fire Marshal's Office, Southern Region at (443) 550-6831.
This incident remains under investigation.
