Student Opportunities for Summer Employment with the Navy and More

The Patuxent River Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Education Outreach coordinator, Kathy Glockner, will present information regarding student employment, cooperative education and several other Navy programs Dec. 14 at Leonardtown High School at 6 p.m.
“Destination Pax River” is part of the NAWCAD education outreach program to provide students and their families a broader knowledge base of local and national Navy programs to promote student achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Additionally, the Fleet and Family Readiness Regional Human Resources Department will present information on summer employment for lifeguards, water safety instructors, camp counselors, recreation aides and a host of other customer services positions. Specific job announcements, application deadlines and the on-line application process will be covered. These positions are located at Patuxent River, Solomons Recreation Center, Dahlgren, and Indian Head.
Parents, students and guardians are encouraged to attend to learn more about these opportunities at Patuxent River. This briefing on student programs applies to high school and college students. No reservations are needed. Seating is on a first-come-first-served basis.
In addition to the Dec. 14 public session, “Destination Pax River” is scheduled at Great Mills High School on Dec. 1, the Dr. James Forrest Career and Technology Center on Dec. 3, and Leonardtown High School on Dec. 8. These sessions are for students at these schools only.
