Explosive Device Placed in Resident's Mailbox

Maryland State Fire Marshal's along with the St. Mary's County Sheriff’s Office are investigating an incident in Leonardtown where an explosive device was intentionally placed in a mailbox.

Leonardtown firefighters responded to 42740 Medley's Neck Road on Jan. 3 around 5 p.m., after the owner reported an explosion in a mailbox. Investigation revealed unknown suspect(s) placed an improvised explosive device in a mailbox. The device detonated and caused damage to the mailbox.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office at (443) 550-6833.

baynet? now you gotta try and shock the reader into believing they are living in Bagdad??? "!IED!" really? some kids f'ing around and now it's an "IED". I guess "home made firecracker" wouldn't get the same shock value you were looking for. If your looking for a "IED" story carry you azz over to Shtcanistan.

1st, this is a press release. TBN did NOT write this. All they did was post it word-for-word as it was released. So please direct your complaints about the content to the author of the release: the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.

2nd, what will really bust your noodle is the fact that the Obama Justice Department has declared IED's to be "Weapons of Mass Destruction" on more than one occasion.

Add it all up and we now have home made match-head firecrackers that are now Weapons of Mass Destruction. Right here in good ol' Leonardtown. Hide the baking soda and vinegar cause it could get ugly.
