Raffle Available for Waves Quilt to Benefit Calvert Library
1/22/2011
Calvert Library is very grateful for its many friends and advocates. One very popular advocate is Hilke Reid Hoefer who has been generous with her time and creativity more than once. This time, Ms. Hoefer has created a “Chesapeake Waves Quilt” in honor of her late husband, Richard Reid, and donated it to the Calvert Library to raffle off as a fundraiser.
The quilt is 62 inches by 62 inches and is suitable as a wallhanging, bed throw or lapquilt. The design is based on a pattern by Judy Martin in her book Cookies and Quilts. The quilt was machine quilted by Linda Buck of Crofton. Raffle tickets are available for $1 each or 6 for $5 and you can get them from any Calvert Library location. The quilt is currently on display at the Calvert Library Prince Frederick. The winner will be drawn on July 1 to allow time for the quilt to be seen at all Calvert Library locations.
