Sex Offender Arrest

On January 27, 2011 information was received from the District of Columbia Sex Offender Registry that registered sex offender Jon William Jones, 71 years old, had moved to Lexington Park. Jones failed to register his new address in Maryland per law.  An investigation by the St. Mary's County Bureau of Criminal Investigations Sex Offender Unit was conducted.  

Jon Jones was located, arrested and taken to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged with failing to register and failing to notify the registry of an address change.  Jones is being held without bond pending an appearance before a district court judge.

Or callers can make anonymous tips Crime Solvers at (301) 475-3333, or text a tip to “TIP239” plus your message to “CRIMES” (274637).

I NEVER UNDERSTAND THIS...
even though d.c. is in the state of m.d. you people's should know if you move to a new location even in the same state you have to check in with your local police station, what he think the d.c. police would still be in charge of him, keep an eye on him from 2 hours or so away...now your in jail an your pictures on a web site an your internationally known!! all across st. marys county that is...

And FYI DC isn't IN MARYLAND! DC is DC! Its the nations capitol... nothing to do with Maryland!

that D.C is in the state of Md. Washington D.C is not in the state of Md. It sits in between Va and Md seperated by the potomac river. It's it's own little province like..You need to learn your geography, but I do agree with you, regardless of where he moved to, he still needs to register his new address and also needs to let his local pd know about it.

i was speaking of d.c. being in an around its self, by the state of md., when its comes to local police policing there suroundings this guy went out of bounds so to speak,offering the correct location only makes me wonder if this guy is on the md sex offender list or does d.c. have its own sex offender list, since dc. is not a state an offenders are to be on a state wide list i wondered if he thought i am on md. list an i can go anywhere in md?? thats thy important info i was thinking about, i really don't need to get caught up on location an that (make dc. a state crap) lets stick to the story please

Patches, when will you stop posting ignorant comments that make absolutely no sense. Also when will you learn basic English. You should really try to write a coherent sentence for once, that we can understand.

I'm sure these sex offenders know exactly what they need to do, it's the fact that they are trying not to be found.
