St. Mary's County Middle School Flag Football League
St. Mary's County, MD - 3/21/2011
By Toni Byrd
The St. Mary's County Middle School Flag Football League is open to all middle school kids that attend one of the local middle schools here in St. Mary's County. Your child must play for the school that they attend. A copy of a report card from the 2010-2011 school year will be collected by the coaches.
There will be no try-outs for the first season. We are planning on each middle school to have one team represent their school. Each team will consist of 10 to 12 Players.
The regular season will be 8 games. All Teams will make the Playoffs. The seeding of the Playoffs will be determined by the regular season standings.
The Principal of the school that wins the Super Bowl will be presented with a trophy that will be displayed in their school for the year. Each year we will have the Schools name that wins the Super Bowl engraved on the trophy. If a school wins the Super Bowl 3 years in a row, the trophy will be presented to the school for them to keep.
Flag Football is one of the fastest growing sports in America. They have been running Flag Football here in St. Mary's County for 7 seasons. They have also been approved to start a Flag Football League in Calvert County for the Spring 2011 Season.
