Motorcycle Accident in Chaptico

At 8:15 A.M. on Friday, August 19, 2011, rescue crews from Mechanicsville VFD Co.2, Mechanicsville VRS Co. 29, and Seventh District VRS Co. 59 along with Maryland State Police were alerted for the personal injury accident. Squad 2 responded along with Ambulance 298 and Ambulance 597. Shortly after it was advised that it involved a motorcycle causing St. Mary's ALS to be dispatched which brought out Medic 2. An EMT arrived first on scene with the police and requested a helicopter for the lone patient who was on the motorcycle. Emergency crews arrived a short time later and started assessing the patient and packaging her for transport. After the assessment of the patient, it was decided that the patient could go to St. Mary's Hospital by ground. Crews cleared after working on the scene for 14 minutes with one transport to the hospital.
The motorcycle was clocked at 83 MPH before the accident by the Maryland State Police.
