Car Off the Road on New Market Turner

 At 1:49 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2011, rescue crews were dispatced for the personal injury accident on New Market Turner Road in the area of Cremona Road involving a single vehicle in a ditch. Crews arrived on scene to find a single vehicle with a single occupant that had ran off the road, had gone down a ditch, and struck a tree. Crews immediately began patient care and then worked to remove the patient from the vehicle. The last fire/rescue units cleared the scene at 2:36 P.M.

     Charles - 

          Hughesville VFD Co. 2 EMS - Paramedic Ambulance 28

Could you please give Barney a new book of traffic tickets, and instruction that he is not to go home in till every one of the traffic tickets has been issued. I promise you
that people will slow down if you start ticketing people that do not follow traffic laws.

Ever since I moved to this great area of the planet (St Marys County) I have read many stories like this one that leave me with one question.......I have been driving for almost 17 years....and my car never once just happened to run off the road...please tell me how and why this happens so much here?

...What ever you do, don't make the assumption that it is cell phone related. Posters will come out of the wood-work to tell you that you are wrong and that you don't know what you are talking about. I'm not one of those, but others are.

in a way -- the car looked to be a Lexus - so one can only ASSUME - they have money and they were monitoring stock prices on their satellite radio and when the market took a jump at 1:30 - they got excited - forgot they were on that road and just ran off -
back to reality - anyone who has traveled that road knows how winding and dangerous that road can be - they oddest thing is - I still see people "flying" down that road - it is only a matter of time - oh - yea - they were on their cell phone

Because southern MD is overloaded with careless and reckless drivers. Incidents like this don't just happen all of a sudden.

So, I'll set the scene for you: Young fella from a rich background (about 15-25) decides to race another vehicle down the road (as if it was some Fast & Furious movie) and makes a turn while the vehicle is traveling at high rate of speed, loses control of the vehicle and flies off the road into a ditch.

I guess the only logical excuse they could come up with was dodging deer, sure. If you're driving the speed limit, you're more than likely to not go coasting off of the road for pumping the brakes. Basic physics can tell you that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most deer accidents happen at night?

I am one of those and yes...
one behind the keyboard accident reconstruction investigator already knows that speed was a factor or some other traffic law was broken and one county hater assumes it happens more "in this great area of the planet (St. Mary's County) than any where else. Your sarcasm was duly noted. The only thing this story says is that there was an accident, one injured and nothing more. By the way cars don't "happen to run off the road". Something caused this driver and car to end up where it did and for all anyone knows speed might very well have been a factor, cell phone use as well but it's very hard to make that determination with absolutely no information what so ever.

I am the father of the person who was driving the vehicle. Most of you should be ashamed of yourselves for assuming the worst of my daughter. She veered to the right on a blind curb when oncoming traffic (a green SUV) was in her lane.

I Hope that your daughter is Okay. That kind of an accident can be very traumatic, especially for a young driver!

You'll have to excuse "iknowimright". He has been known to make up "scenarios" so that he can offer commentary. It doesn't seem to matter to him that he has no clue as to what really happened, he wants to make a negative comment so he just makes stuff up. He does not let truth or facts get in his way. It is clear to see that he has done so (again) in this case.
