Juvenile Arrested On Drug Charges

On Monday, October 31, 2011 at 8:21pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton of the Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police responded to the 23000 block of Gross Drive in California for a CDS complaint. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complaint, 40, of California who advised she located CDS in a juvenile’s room located in her residence. The complainant provided TFC Pilkerton with details leading up to the discovery of the CDS and information as to how the juvenile could be located. TFC Pilkerton then responded to the 23000 block of Dynard Hurry Road in Chaptico where he made contact with a female juvenile, 15, of Chaptico. Information provided by the juvenile resulted in her arrest and being charged accordingly. She was released on scene to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.

I hate parents like this. Why on earth would you put your juvenile child through this embarrassment. You could have easily discarded whatever was found. Now your child is going to be labeled a criminal. I know she's only 15, but these type of things show up on your record when a real background investigation is done for a job. What an idiot. You just helped the government ruin your childs future. You should be a proud parent. Can't solve problems on your own. this is bad parenting. Not sure how often this has happened, and i'm not sure how bad this child is, but I know that calling the police on your own child is stupid as hell. I would never get the authorities involved in my childs life if I can solve the problem myself.

Parents that don't get involved
Its parents like u that create problems in the first place. So don't report ur child and next thing u know it's not weed or alcohol it's coke, heroin, etc. I happen to know this child and she's been given every advantage out there and continues to act out. There comes a time when enough is enough and a lesson needs to be learned. Have u ever thought one parent doesn't give a damn while the other one does? This maybe the wake up call needed. She has awesome potential buts heading down the wrong path. I applaud her parent and one day this child will thank them for giving a crap. Wake up people our kids need help from all the crap going on in this world. Stand up and be a role model.

...This whole situation shows her parent(s) care. While I think this whole war on marijuana is stupid, it doesn't say what she had, so I won't go there, but I will say that it's nice to see some parents who actually give a crap about their children.

Now, if some parents out there would tell their kids to pull their pants up I'd be happy.

No one wants their child to have a record but when you have to turn to a last resort you have to do what you have to do. I don't think this girls guardian has bad parenting skills at all. As a matter of fact, we don't know anything about her and what she does so how can you label her? I would not put up with any kind of drugs in my house and if I had tried everything I could and it did not work, I would have done the same thing.

I do not allow my child to have his pants half down either. That burns me up to see kids walking around like that.

I wonder if this was intentionally
written not to make us think that a mother called the police on her own daughter, step or not. That could create a God-awful parent-child relationship, understandably. Please don't be confused between medical marijuana & regular marijuana, they're the same thing, even though, I agree, they're made out to be 2 different things. Like somehow if you put medical in front, that changes what it is. Hmmm I wonder if more is charged for medical marijuana than regular cause the name is different, marketing, you know.

How is it the same, yet different?

Typically, medicinal marijuana is slightly more, but the quality, growing, and harvesting are much more in depth, and quality controlled than some Joe Blow growing some in his basement, or Jose growing acres of it in Mexico.

Like I said, I didn't want to get into this debate in here because it's not known if whe had pot, or what.

Forget getting into a debate with partygirl. You have to understand what the hell her point is in the first place or what relevance it has with the original story.

This is about a parent who made a very difficult decision to turn her child in for possessing and using drugs. That's it! Nothing more! Kudos to the mom for taking a stand!!

Drugs r drugs no matter how u spell it.
The whole point is the child is outta control her parent is scared for her and in my opinion did the right thing. She's getting the help she needs (whether she wants it or not) and hopefully will get back on the right track. Personally I believe all drugs are bad but regardless things have changed over the years. I never did any drugs and I'm in my late 30's but a few months ago I was slipped drugs while enjoying an evening with people I thought were friends. Maybe it was funny to them but my family finding me unconscious wasn't so funny. My children saw first hand what can happen. Its changed my life forever. Moral of the story things aren't always what they seem. You could be ingesting anything these days, people are sick and twisted. If you have a child and choose to look the other way I pray for them. Life is hard enough without dealers and criminals after our kids.

I still disagree!
There are other ways to help a child besides calling the police. She could have enrolled her child into a rehabilitation clinic or something else of that nature. Hey how about a good old fashioned @$$ Whooping? They seemed to work great for me and the problem always got solved without the police getting involved. Oh, but I forgot now-a-days children have rights over their parents. If a parent disciplines their child with a belt, they risk going to jail themselves for child abuse. lol! It's so funny.

Talk about going in circles. First you say parent should discipline the child instead of getting police involved, then you say if you discipline the child the police will get involved.

Basically, when a kid uses drugs ... the police will/should be involved, right?

You can't discipline your kids today like our parents did us; and if you do, you kids call the cops on you. Let me ask you disagrees this: these kids obviously don't listen to their parents, would you rather hear about a child dying because of this ongoing drug problem because no matter what their parents say to them they won't change their way of thinking? It is common knowledge that kids tend to not take advice from their parent. Calling the police for help I think is the best thing. And this 15 year old is still a minor, her records will be sealed and won't affect her (for now) but maybe this will be an eye opener for her to look at that possibility if she continues this behavior. I commend the guardian of this girl. She cares! And this was most likely a last resort to get some help. Kids that fall under this disease can't see what is right, and it is so heart breaking for the parent to try their hardest to fix it and cant.

It's called keep your legs closed (abstinence) and stop breeding filthy scumbags! Obviously, SOMD females do NOT understand such a simple concept; which is why it should be a law. No breeding unless you know when to stop, and unless you are able to support the child on your own successfully. I'm sort of glad that they're putting 9/F in the water supply. Hopefully, it will make all of these idiots that they have babies with sterile! Yeah, maybe I went too far. SUE ME!

I totally agree with the parent!
I happen to know the people involved in this very well. I think the parent did the right thing. The child may not like what happened to her but she is gettin the help she needs. Hopefully things will turn around for her for the better. She needed a wake up call. Nothing else worked, so the parent did what the parent had to do. if i was in the same position as this parent, and nothing worked to discipline my child, i would have done the same thing. Sometimes it neccessary to learn things the hard way.

Why are most people assuming it's marijuana that was found? Did I miss something in the article?

Aside from that, good for the parent for not putting up with their child's crap! For all we know, mom may have tried other avenues to get her daughter help but the girl resisted. She's better off having the cops called on her now while she's only 15 and hopefully getting things nipped in the bud before she's an adult.

I understand freedom of speech blah blah blah, and the right for public notice but this is ridiculous. Her parents read this banter back and forth too, how do u think they feel. From first hand knowledge I know they are overwhelmed with the whole situation and taking things day by day. They don't need any of us judging them and their decisions. This family is going thru hell and although forums are awesome to vent sometimes I just think its better off to stay outta things. Most of the time on these forums we don't know the details so don't assume or judge. Nobody's perfect and we all handle things the best way we know how. I for one have made mistakes in my life as we all have. It's whether or not we admit it and learn from them or choose to continue the cycle. Everything's a choice and We all get our judgement day in end.
