Body of Missing Indian Head Man Found
Indian Head, MD - 1/4/2012
On Jan. 2 at 1:30 p.m., officers responded to Rivers Edge Terrace in Indian Head for the report of a missing person. Quan Thanh Phan, 66, left his house earlier in the afternoon to take a walk but never returned home. Family members notified police a few hours later and officers immediately canvassed the area. A canine search team was also deployed to assist. On Jan. 3 at about 12:30 p.m., officers spotted Mr. Phan about 50 yards down a steep embankment - behind a townhouse a block away from where he lived; he was deceased. It is not immediately clear how Mr. Phan died but there were no obvious signs of foul play. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death. Detective C. Gass is investigating.
