Police Seek Identity of Suspect in SunTrust Bank Robbery in Upper Marlboro
Upper Marlboro, MD - 1/11/2012
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted in connection with the robbery of the SunTrust Bank in Upper Marlboro, Maryland yesterday.
On January 10, 2012, at approximately 11:24 a.m., the suspect walked into the SunTrust Bank located in the 5700 block of Crain Highway and waited in line while posing as a customer. The suspect then approached the teller window and passed a note stating that he had a bomb and was demanding money. The bank teller, in fear, complied with the suspects’ demands and handed him an undisclosed amount of money at which time he ran out of the bank in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a black male approximately 37-40 years of age, around 5’9”-5’11” tall, and weighing between 150-160lbs. He was last seen wearing a black knit hat, dark sunglasses, a black leather coat, black pants, and black gloves.
