Hamilton Park Gets Approval
La Plata, MD - 1/25/2012
By Andy Marquis
Hamilton Park got approval from the Charles County Planning Commission on Monday evening after questions were raised over parking in a previous meeting. It was determined that the subdivision meets all the legal requirements and the plan moved forward.
The subdivision would be built on Hamilton Road just past the intersection at Hamilton Road and Western Parkway in Waldorf. The townhome subdivision consists of 170 lots on 28.71 acres.
The issues over parking were discussed at a previous meeting on January 9, 2012. Planners felt there were some “quality of life” issues because of the road width and the number of parking spaces. However, counsel for the developers had said that they more than met the minimum requirements on parking.
The preliminary plan passed unanimously.
