Special Operations Saturation Patrol

On February 5, 2012 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight the Special Operations Division of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office conducted saturation patrols within St. Mary's County to detect violators and enforce all traffic laws specifically those pertaining to the operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and aggressive driving.The operation resulted in the following:

1.Eighteen (18) motor vehicles stopped

2.Eighteen (18) traffic citations issued

3.Two (2) equipment repair orders issued

4.One (1) motor vehicle collision investigated and resulted in the arrest of an individual for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

5.In addition, deputies assisted the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office with managing a motor vehicle collision on the Thomas Johnson Bridge which also resulted in the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office arresting an individual for impaired driving.
