School Bus Accident in Sunderland
Sunderland, MD - 3/5/2012
On 3/5/2012 at approximately 1538 hrs, Troopers from the Prince Frederick Barrack as well members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to MD RT 2 at Pushaw Station RD for a motor vehicle crash involving a school bus and a FedEx truck. Once troopers arrived on the scene preliminary investigation revealed that the FedEx truck struck the rear of the school bus which had 4 students and a driver on board. One student was transported to Calvert memorial Hospital as well as the driver of the bus. The driver of the FedEx truck was flown by helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center. all the injuries sustained during the crash are considered non-life threatening. The roadway was shut down for a brief period. Members of the fire department, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, and the State Highway Administration assisted at the scene. The investigation is being handled by TFC Sorenson.
