Woods Tea Company and Ping Performance at HSMC
St. Mary's City, MD - 3/8/2012
Enjoy an afternoon of music at Historic St. Mary’s City on Sunday, March 25, 2012. Back-to-back performances by Woods Tea Company and Ping will sate just about any musical appetite.
Begin the afternoon at 2 p.m. with perennial favorite Woods Tea Company. This acoustic trio renders traditional and vintage tunes with polished harmonies and skilled instrumentals. During a performance, members may tune a dozen different instruments! Witty banter and a standing invitation to sing-along lend a spirit of fun to Tea Company shows. Admission is $15 at the door and proceeds benefit the museum’s tall ship, Maryland Dove. The performance will take place in the HSMC Visitor Center auditorium (18751 Hogaboom Lane, St. Mary’s City).
At 5 p.m., Ping, a new vocal group drawn from members of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Chamber Singers and directed by Professor of Music Larry Vote, will give its first performance in the Brick Chapel. This free concert will feature music of the 17th century as well as selections from other eras. Park in the Visitor Center lot; the Chapel is a short walk and transportation will be provided for those needing assistance.
For more information about either show or the museum, visit www.stmaryscity.org or call 240-895-4990.
