BOCC Seeks Volunteers For Boards, Committees and Commissions

The Board of County Commissioners for St. Mary’s County is seeking citizens who are interested in volunteering their time to the community by serving on various Boards, Committees, and Commissions. Descriptions of the boards and the membership application can be found on the County’s website at http://www.co.saint-marys.md.us/voluntr/.  All applications must include a resume and be submitted no later than May 18, 2012
Commission for Women
Commission on Aging
Community Health Advisory Committee
Ethics Commission
Historic Preservation Commission
Housing Authority Board
Human Relations Commission
Social Services Board
Zoning Board of Appeals

The following boards have special membership requirements. Citizens should specify which position they are applying for and ensure their resume reflects their qualifications for that particular position.
* Adult Public Guardianship Review Board
     - Professional Representative in the Field of Disabilities
      - Professional Representative from local Non-Profit
    * Human Services Council
      - Consumer of Human Services within St. Mary's County
     - Representative of a Non-Profit Org located within and serving St. Mary's County
    * Metropolitan Commission
     - Must reside in Election District 3 (Compton, Leonardtown, Loveville)
* Plumbing Board
     -  Representative from the Propane Industry
