CCSO Wins Annual Sgt. Timothy Minor Memorial Basketball
Waldorf, MD - 3/16/2012
With a score of 80-71, it was a “slam dunk” for the CCSO who beat the Maryland State Police in a game of basketball at the 2012 Annual Sgt. Timothy Minor Memorial Basketball Game held on March 10 at Theodore Davis Middle School in Waldorf.
For 16 years, members of the CCSO and MSP have participated in this annual event as a way to remember Sgt. Minor, a CCSO Motors officer who died in the line of duty on February 12, 1996, after he was struck by a car while responding to an emergency call.
Sgt. Minor’s daughter, Jessica Minor, who at the time of her father’s death was 12-years-old, is now a CCSO Correctional Officer. She and her mother, Gloria, were on hand at the event cheering on Jessica’s co-workers as they secured the championship title.
