Golden Corral Gets Planning Commission Approval
Lexington Park, MD - 4/12/2012
By Dick Myers
The St. Mary’s County Planning Commission has unanimously approved a Concept Site Plan for a new Golden Corral restaurant on Route 235 in Lexington Park. The approval came at the commission’s April 9 regular meeting.
The restaurant is on the site of the former McDonald’s at the Millstone Landing Road intersection. The building will be demolished for a new 11,087-square-foot structure.
In order to accommodate the new building the lot size was expanded slightly to 3.42 acres. The new restaurant will use the existing entrances on MD 235 and Millstone Landing Road that were used for the McDonald’s. The property is owned by Aldridge Ford, Inc.
The new restaurant will seat 400 people and provide 187 parking spaces, within the requirements of the county zoning ordinance.
