Tech Center Goes Green For Earth Day
Leonardtown MD - 4/24/2012
By Dick Myers
Instead of St. Patty’s Day’s Wearing of the Green, the James Forrest Career and Technology Center was “Going Green” on Saturday. The annual Going Green Expo was held at the school and was sponsored this year by the St. Mary’s County Commission on the Environment and the Plumbing and Fuel Gas Board.
Business and government vendors were on hand with a variety of environmentally friendly products and consumer information, such as green development, green building technology, and sustainable practices.
Refreshments were available for attendees and door prizes were called out through the four-hour event.
Unfortunately the other Earth Day event in St. Mary’s county, on the square in Leonardtown, was rained out by Mother Nature on Sunday.
