Cocaine Dealer Sentenced to Over 11 Years in Prison

U.S. District Judge Alexander William, Jr. sentenced John Larry Dickerson, age 42, of Waldorf, Maryland, today to 140 months in prison followed by eight years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distributecocaine, and possession of a firearm in a school zone.
The sentence was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; and St. Mary’s County Sheriff TimCameron.
According to Dickerson’s guilty plea, from November 2010 through July 15, 2011, Dickerson conspired with Brian Deandre Bush, Demetrius Deandre Young, Kerry Alexander Bond, Sr., Marcus Tyrek Chase, William Lamont Young, and others to distributecocaine in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. Specifically, Bush and Demetrius Young received cocaine from their sources of supply in Maryland, Georgia, Florida, and elsewhere, including Bond. The cocaine was smuggled back to St. Mary’s County, Maryland, whereBush and Demetrius Young then supplied Dickerson, William Young, Chase, and others, with powder and crack cocaine for distribution. During the investigation, law enforcement agents intercepted and monitored thousands of calls to and from several cellular phonesand recorded conversations relating to the drug activities of Bush, Demetrius Young, Bond, Dickerson, Chase, William Young, and others. During the intercepted conversations, Dickerson was overheard discussing meeting with Bush in order to obtain cocainefrom him to distribute in St. Mary’s County.
On July 15, 2011, agents conducted a search of Dickerson ’s residence and recovered a loaded pistol grip 12 gaugeshotgun, a box of 12 gauge ammunition, 4 marihuana plants, 3 grams of marihuana in a bag, and a digital scale with cocaine residue. Dickerson knowingly possessed the loaded shotgun within of 1,000 feet of a school.
Co-defendants Brian Deandre Bush, age 41, and Demetrius Deandre Young, age 21, both of Hollywood, Maryland; Kerry Alexander Bond, Sr., age 40, of Leonardtown, Maryland; Marcus Tyrek Chase, age 27, of Lexington Park, Maryland; and William LamontYoung, age 39, of Leonardtown, previously pleaded guilty to their roles in the conspiracy and are awaiting sentencing.
United States Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein commended the DEA and St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office for their workin the investigation. Mr. Rosenstein thanked Assistant United States Attorney James A. Crowell IV, Cheryl L. Crumpton, and Jonathan F. Lenzner who prosecuted this Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force case.
