La Plata, MD - 4/28/2012
By Andy Marquis
Ten years ago, an F-4 tornado hit La Plata, MD killing three people and causing over $115 million in damage in La Plata. Dozens of homes and businesses were destroyed but the town came together to rebuild and, on Saturday, the town has come together to remember.
Festivities throughout the day include a carnival for kids, displays from the local fire departments and local police, live entertainment, displays from La Plata’s “Memory Lane” and more.
The festivities are taking place at Town Hall in La Plata.
