“Calvert County’s 911 center notified the office of the state fire marshal of the hand injury which initiated the response,” Brenneman stated. The injured man was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
“The injury was found to be the result of a homemade launching device that was constructed and detonated, causing the injury to the hand,” Brenneman stated.“[A] criminal follow-up investigation is being conducted.”
No property damage resulted from the detonation.
The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the investigation. Anyone who might have information for investigators is asked to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s regional office at 443-550-6835.
