The Calvert Memorial Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees has welcomed two new members – Michelle Frazer of Chesapeake Beach and Robin Henshaw of Sunderland. The 11-member board is comprised of local residents who volunteer their time and talents to raise funds for expansion projects, new equipment and healthcare scholarships.

Frazer, a retired learning specialist, brings expertise in planning and publicity to her new role. An active member of the hospital’s Harvest Ball Committee since 2010, she also helps raise funds for various children’s organizations through the Old South Ladies Group.

“CMH has served me well since the birth of my first child in 1980,” said Frazer. “Since my retirement in 2008, I have wanted to give back to my community in other ways.”

“I was honored to have been asked to serve on the foundation board,” she said. “To know others have faith in my abilities to assist in this way is a wonderful feeling. I am looking forward to helping CMH provide the best health care in Southern Maryland.”

A successful musician and vocalist, Henshaw is a private music instructor, maintaining PraiseVoice Studios. She also works in her family’s optical business and has a long history of community service including the Rotary Club of Upper Marlboro.

“Because of my excellent care at CMH,” said the breast cancer survivor, “I am motivated to give back to the facility that saved my life.” Henshaw, who was diagnosed in 2010, underwent surgery, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, recovery and reconstruction at the Center for Breast Care at Calvert Memorial Hospital.

“It is an honor to be invited to serve on the foundation board,” she said. “I look forward to meeting more great people in our community who willingly give of their time and efforts to make Calvert County a healthier and happier place to live.”

They join board members Schrader B. Grady, II, co-owner of Fantasy World Entertainment, Cindy Parlett of Huntingtown and CMH board representative Kevin Neitmann. The board also includes Dr. Y. Renee Bright of Calvert Internal Medicine Group. The officers for the coming year are Prince Frederick attorney Mark Davis, president; Kathy Dickinson, vice president; Karen O’Brien, secretary and Terri Wolfley, treasurer.
