Calling it a personal matter, Commissioner President Candice Quinn Kelly (D) and Commissioners Ken Robinson (D: 1st) and Bobby Rucci (D: 4th) said they would pay their shares of mediation out of pocket on Tuesday morning. Commissioner Vice President Reuben Collins (D) also said it was a personal matter.
Commissioner Debra Davis (D: 2nd) was at odds with the other four on the issue, saying it was a commissioners’ issue and she would not foot her own portion of the bill. Collins could not commit to doing so, saying if he did, it would be in good faith.
“The media’s posing it as a personal problem,” Davis, who has repeatedly said Kelly has abused her power, said. “It’s a commissioners’ problem.”
“It’s not the taxpayers’ problem,” Rucci said.
The cost would be $4,000 for the first day which includes an initial two hour meeting followed by an eight hour mediation session, which would be overseen by Judge William Missouri. Any future meetings could be approved with an additional cost.
