At 4:17 P.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, rescue crews were dispatched to the 28000 block of Thompson Corner Road for the reported two motor vehicle collision with a reported subject pinned under the dash of one of the vehicles. As crews arrived on location, they went to work stabilizing the vehicle with the trapped subject followed by working on extricating the patient from the vehicle. As EMS arrived on location, they took care of the second patient as well as assisted with the trapped patient. During the extrication, a helicopter was requested for the trapped victim for transport to a trauma center. Once the patient was freed from the vehicle, they were loaded to into the ambulance and transported to the awaiting helicopter. Once the first patient was transported to the helicopter, it was decided to fly the second patient after consulting with the hospitals.
