A 30-year-old man was charged with theft after witnesses saw him steal a purse off the counter at the Prince Frederick 7-11 convenience store on May 21 at 1:20 p.m.Cpl. R. Wilson responded to the store and was directed to the Prince Frederick shopping center where the suspect was last seen.Two citizens were standing around a subject who matched the description given by the victim.Wilson questioned the subject and subsequently arrested Jay Wainwright, 30 of Landover.The purse and its’ contents were located and returned to the victim.
