Two Arrested After Shoplifting at Walmart

On Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:09pm, Tpr. D. Buckalew responded to the Wal-Mart located on Miramar Way in California for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention staff who advised that two females were observed in various areas of the retail store concealing items on their person. One female, later identified as Danielle Lynn Hayes, 34, of Port Republic, was observed exiting the store without purchasing the merchandise and was subsequently followed by Loss Prevention to the parking lot. Following contact with Ms. Hayes, a second suspect, a juvenile female, 17, of Prince Frederick, exited the store and responded to the same vehicle Ms. Hayes was located at. Tpr. Buckalew then made contact with the suspects, and retrieved the items that were in their possession. The items were returned to Loss Prevention Staff and the both subjects were charged with Theft Less Than $100.00. Ms. Hayes was issued a Criminal Citation with a mandatory court date prior to being released from the scene. The female juvenile was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed and released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services. (1282005645)
