Police Used Taser on Man at TGI Fridays
Waldorf, MD - 6/12/2012
On June 8 at 12:13 a.m., Charles County Sheriff’s officers were attempting to remove a disorderly woman from the T.G.I. Fridays located at 2990 Waldorf Market Place in Waldorf when a man acquainted with the woman became disorderly and hit one of the officers. When the officers attempted to arrest the man, the man resisted. One of the officers deployed a Taser, subdued the man and took him into custody.
The man was identified as Chavalier Maurice Sykes, 29, of Port Tobacco. Sykes was charged with assaulting a police officer, disorderly conduct and failing to obey a lawful order and was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a District Court Commissioner. He and one of the officers were treated for minor injuries. Officer C. Smith investigated.
