Resisting Arrest

On June 28, 2012, Deputies responded to a residence on Ronald Drive, Lexington Park, Maryland, involving an assault.  Deputy Wood began speaking with a witness to the assault and recognized the witness as Robert Emmanuel Clifford, 28, of Lexington Park, Maryland.  When Clifford was asked to provide identification, he stated his id was outside and went to retrieve it being followed by K-9 Deputy First Class Graves.  Clifford provided Dfc. Graves with a false name and when Deputy Wood began approaching Clifford, he fled on foot.  A short pursuit ensued and Clifford was apprehended.  While officers were attempting to handcuff Clifford, he actively resisted by continuing to pull his arms underneath his chest while laying on the ground.  Clifford was eventually handcuffed by officers.  A records check through NCIC revealed Clifford had three outstanding warrants.  Clifford was charged with Resisting Arrest and served with the three warrants.

CDS Possession

On June 28, 2012, Deputy Krum conducted a traffic stop on Loveville Road, Loveville, Maryland, on a vehicle he observed making a traffic violation.  Deputy Krum contacted the driver and identified him as Mark Deangelo Frederick, 29, of Loveville, Maryland.  While Deputy Krum was conducting the traffic stop, K-9 handler Corporal Todd Fleenor responded to the scene and assisted by conducting a K-9 scan of the vehicle.  The K-9 alerted with a positive response and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted.  During the search, a plastic bag was located in the vehicle which contained suspected marijuana.  Frederick was arrested and charged with CDS Possession.
