7/3/2012
On June 30, 2012, at approximately 1015 p.m., a 2012 Ford Focus operated by Keith Raymond Hanson, 39, of Frisco, TX, was traveling on First Colony Boulevard attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Three Notch Road, California, Maryland.
A 2002 Dodge Durango operated by Randy Phillip Whiten, 39, of Mechanicsville, MD, was traveling southbound on Three Notch Road. Whiten failed to stop at a red light and collided with the Ford which was proceeding on a green light.
Keith Hanson was flown to P.G. Shock Trauma where he succumbed to his injuries. Passengers in the Ford included a 39 year old female and an 8 year old female both of Frisco, Texas, who were flown to area hospitals.
The driver of the Dodge was treated and released at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstructionist Team assumed the investigation which is continuing. It does not appear alcohol was a contributing factor.
