Tribute to Honor Our Southern Maryland Military Veteran Families
7/7/2012
Come join the fun at the third annual Tri-Forces Sprint Triathlon and Wellness Fair on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at North Beach Pier, 8916 Chesapeake Ave, North Beach, MD. This community event offers sports, information, and relaxation on the boardwalk of the town of North Beach located along the picturesque Chesapeake Bay. The Sprint Triathlon will begin at 7:15 a.m. (please check out our website for more details) and the Community Wellness Fair will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
In an unprecedented partnership, federal and state interests stand united with our local community to help veteran families dealing with the effects of war. The wellness fair has expanded to spotlight community assistance and resources available to Military Service Members and Veteran families who live in Southern Maryland. Veteran service organizations such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Vet Center, Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans, Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation and many others will be available for assistance during the wellness fair.
Elizabeth N. Lawton, founder of Team Tri-Forces, commented, “The Town of North Beach welcomes you! This tribute to the Military Veteran Family reflects our gratitude for military service. We invite the community to participate in the Sprint Triathlon, peruse the Wellness Fair and resource tables or cheer our triathletes on!”
Please come and join us. For more information, questions or to become involved, please visit us at www.militaryveteranfamily.org or email us at info@militaryveteranfamily.org
