Burglary and Second Degree Assault
On July 6, 2012 deputies responded to a residence on Hills Drive in Mechanicsville, Maryland for a report of a burglary and assault. Investigation revealed Clements William Copsey, 3rd, 35 of Mechanicsville, Maryland broke into the victim’s residence, an individual with whom he familiar. The victim told Copsey to leave the residence which he refused. A verbal confrontation ensued which lead to a physical assault when Copsey grabbed the victim around the neck. Copsey fled the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival but was located a short time later, arrested and charged with first degree burglary, 3rd degree burglary and second degree assault.
First Degree Assault
On July 5, 2012 officer responded to Reeder’s Sanders Road in Hollywood, Maryland for a check the welfare call. The St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center advised responding officers that John Richard Clarke, 49 of Hollywood, Maryland may be armed with a knife and suicidal. When officer arrived they found Clarke sitting in a Ford F-150. Officers directed Clarke several times to show his hands and exit the vehicle. Clarke refused. As officers approached the vehicle, Clark turned his vehicle towards the officers and drove at a high rate of speed straight towards the officers. Officers were forced to move out of the path of the vehicle to avoid being struck by the vehicle. Clarke then fled in the vehicle. On July 6, 2012 deputies located and arrested Clarke. Clarke was charged with 6 counts of first degree assault, 6 counts of second degree assault and 6 counts of reckless endangerment.
Burglary and Second Degree Assault
On July 8, 2012 deputies responded to a residence on Dogwood Circle in Mechanicsville, Maryland for a report of a burglary and assault. Investigation revealed Justin William Hudson, 34 of Mechanicsville, Maryland broke into the victim’s residence, an individual with whom he familiar. Once inside the residence Hudson assaulted the victim by striking him in the face. A third party intervened and stopped the assault. Hudson fled the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival but was located a short time later, arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary and second degree assault.
Violating the Conditions of a Peace Order
On July 5, 2012 Dontavious Jerron Holly, 21 of Lexington Park, Maryland was served with a Peace Order ordering that he not contact the petitioner of the order. On July 7, 2012 and July 8, 2012 Holly violated the conditions of the order by telephoning the petitioner. Holly was charged with two counts of violating the conditions of a Peace Order.
