Restroom Arson Probed

The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that occurred in a restroom inside a Prince Frederick building. According to a report filed by Dfm. John Nelson, the incident occurred around noon Thursday, July 12 at R&R Fabrication Inc. on Schooner Lane.
Nelson reported the blaze, which was discovered by an employee, appears to have been deliberately set.
“The fire caused minimal damage to a restroom inside the building,” Nelson stated. “The fire was extinguished by staff and the business was able to remain in operation.”
No fire departments were dispatched and there were no injuries. The Fire Marshal’s Office estimated the damage at $5,000.
