A Patuxent High School (PHS) history teacher is being remembered by the Calvert County community for his contributions to education and athletics. According to an obituary posted on the Rausch Funeral Home web site, Christopher Andrew “Chris” Turlington “passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 19 from an aneurysm.”
Turlington, a graduate of Randolph-Macon College, was a native of Glouster, VA. The Port Republic resident, who was 37, is survived by his wife, Rae Anne and his children Hunter, age 7 and Olivia, age 3.
“He was a great teacher who will be missed,” stated a parent, who told The Bay Net donations to the Christopher A. Turlington Memorial Fund, a trust for his children’s college educations, are being accepted at PNC Bank. Contributions to the memorial fund may be sent to PNC Bank, P.O. Box 192, Solomons, MD 20688.
In addition to teaching history, Turlington also coached the PHS Girls Varsity Basketball team. He also coached his son’s t-ball and basketball teams.
Services for Chris Turlington will be held Tuesday, July 24 at St. Paul United Methodist Church on H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highland Memorial Gardens in Port Republic.
