The Calvert Marine Museum welcomes back the amazing guitar duo Mac Walter and John Cronin on Friday, August 24 at 7:00 p.m. “Light bites” by Lotus Kitchen will be available for purchase in the museum lobby starting at 6:00 p.m. Wine, beer, and water are also available for sale. Tickets are $5 at the door, cash or check. No advance sales. The Maritime Performance Series is sponsored by the Holiday Inn Solomons.

Three-time WAMMIE winner Mac Walter is an exciting, versatile, dynamic master of the guitar. In the 1960’s Mac developed his unique fingerstyle approach to playing folk, rock, blues, jazz, and country. Walter has toured with Johnny Winter and Deanna Bogart as well as playing with other DC legends including Danny Gatton and Roy Buchanan.

Cronin, who lives in British Columbia, spent seven years working in the popular Ian Tyson Band touring Canada and the USA. Local folk legend Tom Wisner once described John’s playing as “the heart of the guitar.”

First cousins, Mac and John began playing together as teenagers and developed their unique style over the past 37 years. Both are talented in their own right but when they play together, the acoustic fingerstyle and gorgeous harmonies they produce are amazing. Mac Walter and John Cronin have produced two CDs entitled Cousins and Second Cousins

The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Museum members and children under 5 are always admitted free. Admission is $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors and military with valid I.D., and $2.00 for children ages 5 – 12.  For more information about the museum, upcoming events, or membership, visit the website at www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or call 410-326-2042.
