Commissioner Collins to Hold News Conference on Juvenile Detention Center

Despite significant public opposition, the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services has started the process of acquiring property located in the Acton Lane Industrial Park in Waldorf to construct a proposed regional juvenile detention center.
Charles County Commissioner Vice President Reuben B. Collins, II (District 3) is hosting a news conference on Monday, August 13, to highlight the issue and make a statement about why an alternative site in Hughesville would be a more suitable location for the detention center.
