Lexington Park Motel Gets Liquor License
Lexington Park, MD - 8/10/2012
By Dick Myers
The St. Mary’s Alcohol Beverage Board has granted a license to a Lexington Park motel. At its August 9 meeting the board granted a Class A-1 Beer, Wine and Liquor license to Towne Place Suites by Marriot on Route 235 in Lexington Park.
The motel was originally granted a restaurant license and was serving two meals a day by gave up the second meal and now only serves breakfast. They turned in that license.
Representatives of the motel explained to the board that they are an extended stay facility and each room has a kitchenette. The license is intended for the sale of single drinks in a small market next to the check-in counter. Drinks could be consumed only in the rooms and not in the dining area intended only for breakfast.
