Update: Car accident on 235 in front of quality storage

Update: Early Monday morning, Lexington Park and Hollywood Fire and EMS units were dispatched for a two vehicle accident with entrapment on southbound 235 at the entrance to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

At 7:45 a.m. it was reported that one vehicle was on its side.

While the fire and EMS crews worked to extricate the occupants of the Suzuki SUV, Police began routing southbound traffic down a single northbound lane.

One patient was transported to St. Mary’s hospital while the other was flown to PG trauma center by Trooper 7.

235 has been Reopened...

Two Car accident on 235 (South bound) in front on quality storage. One vehicle is overturned. Expect delays.

I hope everyone is okay.
I really hope everyone involved has a speedy recovery. Can the rest of us look at how unfortunate these accidents are? Clearly the story does not say what caused the accident, so I don’t want to assume anything, but let’s look at the facts. Most accidents are caused by reckless driving. Speeding, swerving in and out of traffic, cutting people off, etc. is not going to get you to work any faster! You will just end up at the next red light. Let’s all take a look at this, and realize we need to be more cautious while driving. Stop texting, drinking, speeding, not using turn signals, and everything else that can cause a horrible accident like the one today. You trying to get to work faster and driving recklessly can really take someone’s life! No one’s life is worth risking just to read a quick text or run that red light, so you don’t have to sit there for 30 seconds. Pay attention people. Stop being so consumed with yourselves and drive safely! Every 12 minutes someone is killed in a car accident. That someone could be YOU or YOUR family!!!! Plus, these accidents inconvenience a LOT of people stuck in traffic; those people would like to get to work on time too.

with you. If everyone would just SLOW DOWN, PAY ATTENTION, and be COURTEOUS behind the wheel, there would be fewer accidents. Since it is obvious most drivers can't or won't comply with driving regulations (I seriously doubt if more than 10% have ever read a driver's manual from they way they drive), speed and red light cameras are long overdue and should be installed in QUANTITY on 235 as soon as possible.
