Dep. J. Brown responded to the Prince Frederick Walmart on August 7 for the report of a counterfeit bill passed.

A store employee advised that on July 27 a light-skinned black male purchased about $24 worth of items and paid for them with what was later discovered to be a counterfeit one hundred dollar bill. The man received $76 in change and left the store and got into a dark colored 4 door passenger vehicle.

Sorry Walmart recieved a counterfeit 100 dollar bill. Maybe this guy didn't even know the 100 dollar bill was counterfeit?

I think the man knew it was a fake. Most people wouldn't just pay for such a small purchase with a $100 bill. Generally, when crimes like this take place, it is for a small purchase. I wonder why the worker did not mark the money when it was first recieved to detect if it was a fake or not.

Easy fix........
don't take them so they have to cash them at the bank. If your employees are to stupid to verify the water mark and polymer fiber with 100 on it then eat the bills. The banks will just take it away if it is fake and he can whine all he wants.

Fake 100???
I thought Wal Mart used those "special" pens to check bill $20.00 or bigger? At least they have done that to the cash I have used, and other folks too. Perhaps the cashier was in on the deal.....????

i agree with you too! Probably went into a line of a cashier that he knew. When I had paid with $20.00 or higher,they used the pen to mark them. Also, I think he only spent #24.00, so he could get back change of $76.00 in REAL MONEY! Smart Move there! There is no doubt, he knew the money was counterfeit. Walmart has many, many cameras, everywhere! Hopefully, they will find this criminal.
