Babysitter Arrested For Inappropriate Contact

On August 12, 2012, police units responded to a residence in Lexington Park, Maryland for the report of suspected child abuse.

Upon arrival at the residence, officers learned several children, under the age of 10, made disclosures to a family member that a babysitter had been touching them inappropriately. 

Detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations were contacted and assumed the investigation which resulted in the arrest of Ronald Christopher Sparks, age 53 of Great Mills, Maryland on August 15, 2012. 

Sparks was charged with Child Sexual Abuse, Third Degree Sex Offense and incarcerated in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. 

Sparks was later released by a District Court Commissioner after posting a $5,000 bond.  Additional charges are pending a review with the State’s Attorney’s Office.

this is my uncle and the sweets person you could ever met you dont know what hes been threw so dont go there with the heebie jeebies stuff i love my uncle 100%and that will never change it will come out in the end

and REALLY if they didn't have enough evidence, by the way, this isn't just one child, there are several children involved! Ronald Sparks would not have been arrested. Also mentions that additional charges are pending by the State's Attorney Office. As a parent of a victim (I know) and the criminal went to jail and is now on the sex registery list. Very seldom are these criminals, not guilty! Gone crazy, how old are you? I would NEVER even take up for (a family member), if they committed such a horrible crime! Every time I read the news, there is another pedophile out there! I feel for the victims, the innocent victims! The criminal in my daughter's case thought he got away with the crime, cause 10 years had passed. She told right before she turned 18. I don't want to hear, why did it take her soooo long to tell? Don't matter, there are many reasons why victims don't tell. The fact is, she told and he went to jail. By the way, the pedophiles are great at threatening, he threatened my daughter for years, not to tell. By the way, my daughter did not have to go to court, cause John Allen Combs, pleaded GUILTY! You are correct, gone crazy, it will come out in the end, (by the way, these cases are througherly worked through and it takes time), but he will more likely be convicted, then not. Thank goodness for the person who had turned him in, too! (The children and the victims, need more people like you)! Many people especially in this area, just turns a blind eye, when it ocmes to this crime. Hopefully, justice will be served!

I have known ths man for a long time. I also know the victims and their mother. How dare u say these children are not telling the truth. There mother is a great mother and takes good care of all of those kids, she trusted that man. further more he was not the baby sitter. these are innocent children that have to live with this for the rest of there lives. weather or not he looks like a pervert or not is not the situation at hand.If u love ur uncle then get him some help. or dont say a thing at all. this has torn the mother apart, she is grieving for her children. you need to leave the victims and the family alone. Dont make it harder on any one else.................. If it was your childre how would you feel Jackie?

THIS CREEP IS GUILTY!!!
75% of all sexual abuse victims are assaulted by a person they know and the family trusts. People who prey on children will go above and beyond to look like the most "upstanding" citizen. So I'm sure your uncle is a real nice guy, but that is just a way to gain trust. Look at priests, perfect example, oh they would never do that!! There will probably be an indictment and more victims will come out I'm sure.. Think of the children who have to live the rest of their lives with memories of some creepy old man molesting them!!! As for "nice and sweet" Ronald, don't worry ,he won't be far away....he'll be "Jessup" the road for at least 10 years!

but although the likelihood of this man being convicted is good, the likelihood of him doing any significant jail time in not. If convicted, I would venture to guess he will get 6 to 18 months in the county jail, with work release, weekend reporting, or home detention.

This seems to be the norm anymore. Judges are making me about as sick as these jerk offs do. Can we just get a judge with some ba____s! Stop thinking you can fix a genetic defect, which the perverted sex offenders have!

He didn't do this i know this because you can look at this man in person and see there are no signs of anything relating to people that actually do sexual abuse children which i've seen all of the signs. And you can say well hes good at hiding it. No everyone does and they do slip up and i've watched him closely for hours and hours and theres no sign of anything. But the family that says this you can watch the family and they have guilt all over them not sadness guilt. If these children were truely done wrong they'd be sad mad. Not guilty. Their the ones that are making this up.

@Know the facts... Just to let you aware of something!! I was just like you believed there was NO way this man did this . Had no doubt that he didnt do it and that it was a misunderstanding, Until i heard the very words of the lil girls in my family tell me what this man did to them. So your now not talking about this family that accused him first. Justice will be served on him and when the truth comes out you will want to take a shower and brush your teeth for just knowing that you spoke of words of doubt and that you hugged this man. I know I did.. this man had everything down to sooo many ppl loved him so much that they were willing to doubt 2 children. I wipe my hands of him. And i will pray for you and his family and him that everyone does whats right . These girls trusted him and he made them scared and embarassed to tell anyone and that right there makes me sick. Think what you want but i will tell you that I NOW KNOW HE IS GUILTY PERIOD!!

Ronald Sparks you should be ashamed of yourself . We accepted you in our family and you did this to our family . And no everyone I am not apart of the family that has accused him in this one I am on the family of the next case because there are MORE children that have came forward.I am disgusted !! we trusted you our children trusted you and you stomped on us all . If you have any remorse for what you did to us and the very children that called you pop pop and trusted you you will admitt what you did and you will give justice for our family and all children involoved. This is real as it gets YOU ARE GUILTY AND WE KNOW NOW THAT YOU ARE. STOP CONTACTING OUR FAMILY AND TRYING TO TELL US HOW YOU ARE INNOCENT. you arent and we now know! I will pray from you that you will do what you have to to get justice for them. and you wont be a coward and try and kill yourself before trial . because seeing you behind bars will make me happier then seeing you dead. You need to suffer like the very innocent children that you have destroyed!!

TRUTH WILL COME OUT
My significant other came out in her 20's about her biological father many years after the abuse. Thanks to the work of Maryland State detective, and NCIS he is now serving 19 1/2 years in Federal Prison.

The truth is, there is just to much "sterotyping", the person that you think would be THE LAST PERSON TO VICTIMIZE anyone, is the one, that is usually the PERPETATOR! I can't stand when someone use their "kindness", to victimize, children!!
How Sad!!
Good for the person who spoke out in their 20's, and the father is now serving time! Like I mentioned earlier, the criminals think, if much time has passed, they were able to get away with a criminal act! NOT! Thank Goodness for the law, there is no Statue of Limitations when it comes to reporting sex abuse.

MR NASTY is finally in jail!!! on 10 counts of child abuse!! i am relieved for my family that now the very children he has destroyed has peace. One of the victims was really upset that he wasnt in jail and that he was denying it . You cant explain that to a 10 yr old!!. I am sorry to his family who has stood by his side but now only the truth can set him free..I know very well how hard it was to believe this ronald was a very respected man who was loved by many.. But behind all the nice faces he gave to us he was destroying the very innocence of our neices, daughters ,friends granddaughters. I hope he rotts in his own thoughts and he see exactly what he has done to all of us. familys who have lost trust and kids that will hoefully but maybe never over come this. They only thing i have heard is a victim say Im glad someone finally came foward so now we know it will stop since everyone else was to scared.. I hope you burn just from that statement!!

PLEASE UPDATE ON THIS LOSER HE HAD COURT ON THE 19TH HE WAS SENTENCED TO 14 YR HE CAN NOT REQUEST TO BE RELEASED UNTILL HE HAS SERVED 11 YRS!!! HE HAS PLED QUILTY TO SEXUAL ABUSE OF 5 CHILDREN ALL WHO CALLED HIM POP POP AND ONE A RANDOM FRIEND OF ON OF THOSE LIL GIRLS... SMFH.. ID LOVE TO SEE THIS PLASTERED ALL OVER BAYNET THANKS!!JUSTICE WAS SERVED. IM SORRY TO ALL HIS FAMILY THAT WAS INVOLVED IN THE WEB OF LIES DEF HIS DAUGHTER AND HER NEW SON.
