Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Route 5
Loveville, MD - 8/20/2012
On August 18, 2012 at approximately 12:37 p.m. a 2009 Honda Fit operated by Kristen Lee Dix, 26 of Leonardtown, was northbound on Maryland Route 5, south of Pin Cushion Road in Loveville, Maryland. Ms. Dix’s vehicle left the roadway, crossed the northbound shoulder onto the grass, struck several wooden fence posts and a telephone pole. The vehicle then came to rest in a field.
Ms. Dix was wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision, however; she succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Members of the Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The initial investigation does not indicate speed or alcohol as contributing factors.
