Scott is Calvert's Top August Employee
Prince Frederick, MD - 8/23/2012
By Marty Madden
Election Registrar Kristen Scott was saluted Tuesday, Aug. 21 as Calvert County Government’s Employee of the Month for August.Scott received recognition during the Calvert County Commissioners’ weekly meeting.
According to a memo from Kim Gott, the chair of county government’s Employee Recognition Committee, Scott “went above and beyond her regular duties in training two fellow employees at the same time. She trained a fellow registrar and the new office assistant on top of dealing with last election cycle. Kristen also took on additional duties while her supervisor was on medical leave.”
“She was overwhelmed with not only her own duties, but those of training on the voter registration system, candidate filings, absentee procedures, election judge materials and supplies, and training of volunteers, as well as the applicable laws required of election officials,” stated Calvert County Board of Elections Administrator Gail Hatfield in her nomination submission. “During all of this added responsibility, Kristen never once lost her patience or professionalism.”
Calvert County Government’s Employees of the Month each receive a certificate and a nominal check as part of the recognition.
