DETECTIVES IDENTIFY AND ARREST ADDITIONAL SUSPECT IN ASSAULT: On Aug. 25, detectives assigned to the CCSO Criminal Investigations Division arrested Kenneth Dionel Brawner, 21, of Waldorf, who was wanted in connection with the assault and robbery of a newspaper deliveryman on Aug. 5 in the 3300 block of Ryon Court. Brawner, one of five suspects in the assault, was arrested without incident and charged with robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft and motor vehicle theft. The other suspects were previously arrested.
THEFTS FROM MOTOR VEHICLES: On Aug. 27 at 4:30 a.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of Stone Commons Place in Waldorf for the report of a car alarm that activated. The owner of the car heard the alarm, looked out his window and observed the rear passenger window had been shattered. Upon further inspection, he determined his iPod and other electronics had been stolen. Officers canvassed the neighborhood and observed three cars which were sitting on cinderblocks after unknown suspects stole the wheels and rims. Officer D. Harrison is investigating.
OFFICER RECOVERS TWO STOLEN CARS AND ARRESTS SUSPECTS: On Aug. 26 at 9:19 a.m., Cpl. M. Davidson was checking the parking lot of the Waldorf Motel when he observed a Jeep Liberty with a broken vent window parked in the lot. A computer check revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Prince George’s County. As Cpl. Davidson investigated further, a vehicle entered the parking lot and drove toward the Jeep; the officer checked the registration and learned the car had been reported stolen from Anne Arundel County. Cpl. Davidson initiated a traffic stop and the occupants were taken into custody. Narcotics were found on both suspects. The driver of the car, Tracy Gilbert, 42, of Lothian, had an open warrant with Anne Arundel County; she was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The passenger, Charles Albert Jackson, 37, of Temple Hills, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. The Jeep appeared to be linked to the suspects and the investigation is continuing. Cpl. M. Davidson and PFC V. Warker made the arrests.
ROBBERY: On Aug. 25 at 9:15 p.m., two suspects approached a woman as she was walking toward her car in the 10600 block of Riva Place in White Plains. The suspects, who were wearing masks, demanded money and the victim complied. The suspects fled and the victim notified police. One of the suspects is described as a white male, 5’7”, 150 lbs., with short, dark colored hair. Pfc. J. Walter is investigating.
