Vacant Home Destroyed by Arson

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an arson that occurred at the 6600 block of Barry’s Hill Road in Bryans Road on Tuesday morning. The blaze, discovered by a passing motorist, took 30 firefighters 15 minutes to control.
Units from Bryans Road, Potomac Heights, Accokeek, Waldorf, Indian Head and Marbury responded to the fire, which originated in the interior of the residence. It was determined that the fire was intentionally started. The Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agency is assisting. The blaze caused $25,000 in damage to the two story home.
