Car Owners, Community Show Support for Frankie

Organizers of a car show held Saturday, Sept. 8 to aid the survivor of a recent domestic tragedy report the event raised nearly $4,000. The benefit for Frank “Frankie” Hayward III was held at Sneade’s Ace Hardware in Lusby. In addition to the Washington Redskins Hogettes, Rockin’ Elvis, local vendors, members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department and classic car owners, Frankie Hayward was also part of the festivities. The 12-year-old, who was released from Children’s Hospital Aug. 24, took rides in some of the classic cars and was seen zooming around the grounds in a motorized cooler.
Among the other events planned to help Frankie is a second car show, which will be held Sunday, Sept. 23 from noon to 4 p.m. in North Beach.
Contributions can be made to the Frank Hayward III account, which is set up at SunTrust Bank.
