Great Mills H.S. Senior Crowned Queen of Tolerance
Leonardtown, MD - 9/21/2012
By Mike Wilson
The 66th annual St. Mary’s County Fair opened Thursday night, September 20, with the Queen of Tolerance Pageant. And the 2012 winner is -- Caroline Brigham, a Great Mills High School senior.
With the sights, sounds and smells of the fair outside twelve young ladies entered the new auditorium with their escorts. Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Star Spangled Banner sung by the Esperanza Middle School Festival Chorus, Senator Roy Dyson made the announcements everyone was anxiously waiting for.
Queen of Tolerance 2012 2nd runner up is Delaney Madden and Queen of Tolerance 2012 1st runner up is Sarah Fischer.
Naval Air Station Patuxent River Executive Officer Capt. Benjamin Shevchuk crowned Brigham and St. Mary’s County Fair Board President John Richards presented her with a one thousand dollar scholarship check.
Following the ceremony, everyone went out to enjoy the first day of the 2012 St. Mary’s County Fair.
