UPDATE: Accident Scene in Lusby Now Clear

UPDATE: ACCIDENT SCENE IS NOW CLEAR

As of 7:15 p.m., the Calvert County Sheriff's Office reports all roadways are now OPEN from earlier accident in Lusby. No details of the accident have been released by authorities at this time.

The Calvert County Sheriff's Office reports at 6 p.m. a traffic accident in Lusby is under investigation. Cove Point Road at HG Trueman Road is reportedly shut down. Also, northbound Route 2/4 is closed at Cove Point Road as is one lane of southbound Route 2/4.

Bad Intersection
People really need to be careful turning onto Cove Point Road from the north bound lane. I always have to hit the brakes there.
But also, people don't need to be going 75 and 80 through either heading north.
I saw the car and really hope that the lady is ok. Also, people need to GET OFF of the road when the Fire Departments are on call with sirens. Last night after passing this accident I saw St. Leonard heading south and people DIDN'T get off of the road when they passed. Are you kidding me? That is a law and if you were in that smashed car you would want the fire departments to have a clear rail!

the 80% to stupid to drive and the failure to pull off is everywhere in Maryland. If you do good luck getting back on the road.

No, the law doesn't say people have to "get off the road". they are supposed to move to the right. I agree with what you're saying, but there is no need to go 4-wheeling on the side of rt.4 when an emergency vehicle drives by.

I am not aware of the actions or events that caused this specific accident , therefore, my comment is not intended for those involved.I hope the injuries were not severe and all recover quickly.
BUT.. the driving habits of the public is eroding exponentially.

Actually in Maryland you are to move to the closest road edge which would be the "side" of the road, which on Rte. 4 where I am talking about has a very safe area to pull off. There would not be any 4 wheeling.
