Twenty-three Maryland wineries, many from Southern Maryland, were on hand for sampling and purchase during the 10th Annual Riverside WineFest at Sotterley. With near perfect weather on Saturday and cool, and at times rainy weather, to deal with on Sunday, crowds flocked to the event on the spacious lawn in front of historic Sotterley Plantation.

Wineries from Southern Maryland participating were:

·Cove Point Winery of Lusby

·Friday’s Creek Winery and Art Gallery of Owings

·Perigeaux Vineyard and Winery of St. Leonard

·Port of Leonardtown Winery

·Running Hare Vineyard of Prince Frederick

·Slack Winery of Ridge

·Solomons Island Winery of Lusby

There were plenty of food vendors to go with the wine. And music by the Pax Rats, Groove Span, David and Joe Norris, and Gary Rue and the Dance Hall Ghost provided the entertainment. The event also featured mini tours of the mansion and free tours of Colonial Revival Garden, along with artisans, children’s activities and wine making and tasting demonstrations.

The Color and Light Society also held an art show in Sotterley's historic barn. .

A number of sponsors and volunteers helped to make the event a success.
